The International Federation of Phonographic Industries (IFPI) released its summary of digital music usage and revenue for 2013.
According to the March Nielsen RADAR report network ads reach over 181 million every week.
UK country music fans are mainly using smart phones to access music from the genre because of a lack of home-grown radio stations playing it.

IFPI global report shows streaming growth in 2013
The IFPI is a global advocacy, lobbying, and industry-tracking organization headquartered in Europe, affiliating many national organization around the world are affiliated under its umbrella, including the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), the leading record-music industry voice in the U.S. “It is now clear that music streaming and subscription is a mainstream model for our business,” according to Frances Moore, Chief Executive of IFPI.
Network Ads reach over 181 million every week
Nielsen measures 46 radio networks and concludes that more than 181 million Americans age 12 or older, about 68 percent of the population, heard a network radio commercial during an average week.
Smart phones top device for UK country fans
Research undertaken by the Country Music Association found 77% of followers listened to the music on smartphones, while 62% did so via a laptop and 57% via radio.
Digital dollars lead 2013 revenue growth for broadcast radio
The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) released a 2013 revenue report for broadcast radio. By a wide margin, digital revenue led other income segments in year-over-year comparisons.

Radiodays Europe kicks off two days of discussions about the present and future
The main keynote even of the first day was scheduled to feature Helen Boaden, director of the U.K.’s BBC Radio. The overall thrust of Boaden’s presentation was conveyed in its title: “Radio is in its greatest ever period of change.”
